Winter Care for Decorative Fountains and Ponds

Fully drain the water from the fountain or pond before the first big freeze. If possible, cover the fountain bowl or turn it upside down to prevent water from collecting. For smaller fountains, you might want to consider storing them inside in a garage or storage shed. For all fountains and pools, remove the pump and store it inside over the winter. This will protect the pump from inclement weather and greatly extend the useable life of the device.
